About Course

Course Overview: Welcome to the Exploring Mandarin Delights course for Year 3 students. This course continues to build upon the foundation of Mandarin language skills acquired in previous years. Through interactive lessons, engaging activities, and cultural exploration, students will further enhance their ability to communicate in Mandarin and gain insights into Chinese customs and traditions.

What Will You Learn?

  • By the end of this Year 3 Mandarin course, students will have advanced their Mandarin skills to engage in more complex conversations, express opinions, and share stories. The course aims to provide an interactive and culturally enriching environment where young learners can confidently use Mandarin to communicate effectively while gaining an appreciation for Chinese culture and language.

Lesson 1: Greetings and Introductions

Lesson 2: Family and Relationships

Lesson 3: My Community
o Explore vocabulary related to places in the community and navigate through common scenarios.

Lesson 4: Travel Tales
o Discuss travel experiences and destinations, and create imaginary travel brochures.

Lesson 5: Likes and Dislikes
o Discuss personal preferences, hobbies, and express opinions using Mandarin.

Lesson 6: Describing Objects
o Learn descriptive words and phrases to express the appearance of objects.

Lesson 7: Chinese New Year
o Discover the traditions and significance of the Chinese New Year celebration.

Lesson 8: Festival of Lanterns
o Learn about the Lantern Festival and its cultural practices.

Lesson 9: Stories and Legends
o Listen to and retell simple stories, folktales, or legends in Mandarin.

Lesson 10: Let’s Act!
