About Course

While this course emphasizes foundational fitness skills, it lays the groundwork for future astronaut fitness. As students grow, they can engage in progressively challenging exercises and sports to develop strength, endurance, and overall fitness, prerequisites for astronaut training.

Course Content

Week 1-2: Building Stamina and Basic Movements
• Introduction to jogging in place and around obstacles • Jumping rope (imaginary or actual) • Basic stretching exercises to improve flexibility

Week 3-4: Balance and Coordination
• Balancing on one foot and walking along a straight line • Hopping sequences to enhance coordination • Basic yoga poses for balance and flexibility

Week 5-6: Strength and Core Development
• Bodyweight exercises: push-ups against a wall, squats • Introduction to plank variations for core strength • Fun partner exercises to engage core muscles

Week 7-8: Speed and Agility
• Short sprints with a focus on proper running form • Agility ladder drills for quick footwork • Tag games that require quick changes of direction

Week 9-10: Flexibility and Stretching
• Full-body stretching routines after exercises • Yoga poses to encourage flexibility and relaxation • Discussing the importance of staying flexible for physical activity

Week 11-12: Endurance and Cardio
• Long-distance running or jogging for increased stamina • Aerobic dance sessions to elevate heart rate • Simple obstacle courses that require sustained effort
