This course establishes a foundation for developing fitness levels required for astronaut training. As students grow, they can continue to explore various sports and activities to enhance their strength, endurance, flexibility, and agility.
Course Content
Week 1-2: Warm-Up and Cool-Down Routine
• Teach the importance of warming up and cooling down
• Basic stretches for major muscle groups
• Gentle jogging to get the heart rate up
Week 3-4: Running and Endurance
• Introduce proper running form and breathing techniques
• Fun relay races to build endurance
• Simple interval training (running and walking)
Week 5-6: Strength and Core Building
• Bodyweight exercises: push-ups, lunges, squats
• Plank variations for core strength
• Balance exercises to engage core muscles
Week 7-8: Flexibility and Mobility
• Dynamic stretching routines for flexibility
• Yoga poses for relaxation and flexibility
• Activities that require bending, twisting, and reaching
Week 9-10: Speed and Agility Training
• Sprinting drills with a focus on quick starts
• Cone drills for agility and quick direction changes
• Tag games that promote agility and quick thinking
Week 11-12: Aerobic Fitness and Cardio
• Longer distance running for improved stamina
• Fun dance workouts for cardiovascular endurance
